Colby, an Eagle Scout, was born and raised in Denton and graduated from Denton High School. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Texas Tech University and his law degree from the Texas A&M School of Law. Prior to attending law school, Colby served as a Congressional Intern in the Office of U.S. Congressman Michael C. Burgess, gaining valuable insight into the legislative process and constituent services.

During law school, Colby balanced his rigorous academic workload with hands-on legal experience. He clerked for The Honorable Judge Sally Montgomery in the Dallas County Court-at-Law 3, where he developed a foundation in courtroom procedure and legal writing. He also interned with the Human Rights Initiative of North Texas, representing victims of violence from around the world.

After law school, Colby focused his practice on family law and probate matters. He has assisted clients with a wide range of family law issues, including divorce, child custody, child support, and adoption. His compassionate and methodical approach helps families navigate emotionally charged situations with clarity and care.

In probate law, Colby has handled estate administration, guardianship proceedings, and will contests, guiding clients through the complexities of the probate process to ensure the orderly distribution of assets and protection of their loved ones’ legacies.

With his diverse experience and dedication to service, Colby is committed to advocating for his clients and providing solutions that meet their unique legal needs.
